Sands of Mars Digital Art Print
Sands of Mars is a digitally hand-colored rendition of an image captured by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Context Camera (CTX). The source image data used was the raw PDS (Planetary Data System) file obtained from the NASA PDS Imaging Node. To create the image, I used a variety of techniques I've developed over the years for the processing of images from a variety of NASA robotic missions. Most of this work has been with imaging data returned by the Viking and Mars Global Surveyor missions to Mars.
