Artsnova Digital Art Gallery
Home to the art and writings of Jim Plaxco

Welcome to the new 2024 Artsnova Digital Art Gallery. The Artsnova Digital Art Gallery is home to the digital art, photography, writings, and other creative activities of Jim Plaxco. The digital art on display here was created using a variety of creative coding techniques, computer graphics software, hardware, and both film and digital photography. A key element in much of the art is the use of customized generative and algorithmic programs designed and written by the artist. The range of art represents the artist's varied interests and his quest to explore the full range of visual possibilities offered by digital technology and custom designed (creative coding) graphics software. Artsnova is also home to Jim's various book projects.

Artsnova Website Update: January 23, 2024

The Artsnova website has been completely rethought and redesigned and deployed in a new hosting environment. While the redesign and deployment was complete as of 01/23/2024, validation of all aspects of the new design with respect to content, meta tags, and links is not yet complete. If you come across an error, discover something that does not work, or just have a question, please take a moment to let me know via my contact form. Thank you for your patience while work proceeds on completing the website's migration.

AI Generated Art - The Story Behind The Alien Biomech Portrait

AI Generated Art - The Story Behind The Alien Biomech Portrait

2024-03-26: The story behind the creation of Alien Biomech Portrait generative AI artwork is that it was one of many generative AI artworks I created as a part of doing research for two generative AI workshops I taught in 2023. One was for a science fiction convention and the other for students attending a space development conference. In the processing of deleting the art that got created during that process, I decided to keep this one and a number of others based on their artistic appeal.

A Redesigned Artsnova Website Part 1

2024-01-25: It is now 2024 and my deployment of a newly designed Artsnova website is finally a reality. I'm embarrassed to say that this has been a couple years in the making and is long overdue. I'm also embarrassed to say that during this period I have added very little new content to the website and wrote no blog posts. I'd like to share with you some of my thinking with respect to this website redesign.
